'To Whom It May Concern' is an emerging writers night produced and directed by Salt Circle Productions. The one-hour show consists of monologues around different themes. Tonight’s theme is 'restlessness' and will be performed by brilliant London based actors.
This is an evening of letters that were never sent. A night of connection, revolution and power as we hear the voices of 'us', the general public that is often overlooked.

THE WRITERS
Tessa Birchley
Writer and performer of 'Father England'
Tessa Birchley is a playwright and student from Essex. They write plays that encounter identity and selfhood, engaging in community discourses through the lenses of lived experiences. They have written previously on deafhood, medical trauma, and traversing relationships after sexual assault, and typically blend together spoken English with British Sign Language as an extension of their experience of deafness on stage. Their work has been performed through companies such as Burnt Orange Theatre and Queen's Theatre Hornchurch's Outer Limits.
They are currently studying at Central School of Speech and Drama, and plan to continue their playwriting alongside a career in academia.
Henriette Laursen
Writer and performer of ‘My Love'
Henriette Laursen, actor, writer and director, educated from East15 MFA Acting in 2019. Henriette has been performing, writing and co-creating theatre pieces and scripts since 2016; some of them being ‘Nordisk Gravøl’ at Teater Grob in 2019, and her one-person show called ‘Going Straight to Gay… or something in-between’, which she performed in London and Copenhagen between 2020-2021. Alongside theatre she’s worked on numerous short film productions such as 'The Right Reverend', ’Wiped’ and feature films like ’Deadly Nightshade’. In May she will be doing a Tedx-talk about bisexual representation in media.
David Orn
Writer of ‘National Student Survey'
David is a writer from Iceland currently studying at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He's a member of the Northern Script committee that's aimed at young writers from the Nordic countries taking their first steps in screenwriting. David has worked with organizations to make and facilitate writing workshops for young students, in one instance creating a choose your own adventure video game. He is also the founder and owner of the outdoor clothing company icelandcover.com operated in his home country. His interest lies in informative performances, such as lecture performances, and after graduating he plans to write within that genre.
Lydia Wainwright
Writer and performer of ‘Renting'
Lydia Wainwright is a standup, writer and performer from the present day. She also does stuff with puppets, voice acting, LGBTQ+ theatre, and is a recent Drama and Comedy graduate from Goldsmiths. Alongside writing monologues for comic actors, she is currently writing the libretto for Wetherspoons - The Musical. It’s probably best for everyone if it never gets staged. Lydia can sometimes be found chatting nonsense at a comedy club near you. If not, she must be walking up a hill somewhere, or watching a musical and crying. She has won no awards and is fine with that.
Ellie Rothwell
Writer of ‘In Your Absence, I wait.'
Ellie is writer and theatre maker based in Bristol. Inspired by the human condition, her work often bridges poetry and prose, leaning on otherworldly imagery and existentialist voices. Alongside her acting work, she has written multiple other monologues, such as Baby Toothless which was performed by Circle Theatre earlier this year. Ellie is currently working on a new sketch comedy show with her theatre company Big Fat Theatre, and continues to write, produce and act on the web series Overdrafted Bristol. Ellie is now a senior instructor in Technical Theatre at the University of the West of England, where she previously graduated with a degree in Drama and Acting.

Rukmini Sircar
Performer of 'In Your Absence, I Wait'
Rukmini (she/her) is an actor and performance maker. She trained at the National School of Drama, India and worked at the NSD Repertory Company. She is interested in hybridity, interdisciplinarity and the artistic possibilities of cross-cultural collaborations. In 2021 she received the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship. Her quest to expand her creative practice brought her to London, and she is currently pursuing an MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths.
Ross Barbour
Performer of 'National Student Survey'
"I'm an autistic actor from Glasgow. Graduated at Italia Conti in 2019. Acting work includes 'Cinderella', 'Parting' and 'Sorry not sorry.' Directing work includes 'Pests' by Vivienne Franzmann and 'I picture' by Natsu Hirukawa."

The London based, Brighton born singer likes to explore themes around duality and the romance in the mundane

Rasheka Christie-Carter
Director of 'In Your Absence, I wait.' and 'My Love'
Rasheka is a theatre director, based in South London. Her directorial debut was the critically acclaimed ‘Sticks and Stones’ at the Tristan Bates Theatre. Most recently, she has assisted on Bring It On, To Kill a Mockingbird and My Fair Lady. Additionally, she has also worked on theatre projects at Edinburgh Fringe Online, The Cockpit, English Touring Theatre and The University of West London.
Jacob Horowitz
Director of 'National Student Survey'
Jacob Horowitz (he/they) is a playwright, director and actor originally from outside of Richmond, Virginia in the United States. They came to London for university, and to earn their masters in theatre. Jacob's plays have been produced all over the world. Jacob is thrilled to be directing for and working with the fantastic people behind To Whom it May Concern.
Harris Albar
Director of 'My Love'
Harris (He/Him) is a queer theatre-maker from Singapore currently completing his undergrad at Central School of Speech and Drama. His practice is community focused and he is interested in exploring intersecting identities through his work. He has directed work both in London and Singapore and is grateful to be part of the 2nd cohort of Tamasha directors.
